Spotlight Student
Spotlight Student Schedule
Here is what they will need to do each day for being Spotlight Student:
Monday- Put together some pictures (on a regular size poster board, if possible) that chronicle his/her life to this point. This will allow the entire class to learn more about their classmate, which we feel is crucial to a positive learning environment. Example of a regular size poster board below.
If you do not have a photograph to answer one of the statements, have your child draw a picture. Photos will be returned at the end of the week. Feel free to add more information if you’d like to. You can do this directly on the poster, on note cards, or on a piece of paper. Just have fun with this!!
Tuesday- Your child is responsible for filling an estimation jar with something from home. This is a very fun and challenging math activity for the students. The items will be returned, if requested, at the end of the week.
Wednesday- Your child should bring in their favorite book. We will read the book in class and complete a class reading log entry with their book.
Thursday- Your child is responsible for bringing an item for his/her surprise box. Place something in a box or bag and write three clues on an index card. The clues will be read to the class in hopes that they will be able to identify the item. The item will be returned at the end of the day.
Friday- This is a special Show and Tell day for your child. They may bring in ONE special item (toy, picture, book) to share with the class. The Show and Tell will be returned that same day.
